Lindsay Martinez

Lindsay Martinez was born and educated in Scotland and was a staff member of Glasgow University Department of Veterinary Pathology (1965-1976) and Research Fellow at the University of Geneva's Department of Medicine (1976-1981) before moving to become a WHO staff member (1981-2000). After coordinating the WHO malaria vaccine research programme for 10 years, Lindsay moved into broader communicable disease activities. Prior to retirement in 2000, Lindsay was Director of the Department of Communicable Disease Surveillance and Response and now continues to work for WHO on temporary assignments, mainly with the TB programme.
