Nick Beeching

Nick Beeching trained in Oxford then worked in Liverpool, Adelaide, Birmingham and Auckland. He was a consultant physician in Saudi Arabia for 2 years before moving to Liverpool in 1987. He has appointments as the Clinical Lead for the Tropical and Infectious Diseases Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Senior Lecturer in Infectious Diseases at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Honorary Consultant to the Health Protection Agency. Among his clinical and research interests are "emerging" and imported diseases and he Chairs the steering committee of the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC). He has been Chair of the Specialist  Advisory Committee  in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine and of the Examination Board for the DTM&H, Royal College of Physicians of London, and has recently stood down as President of the British Infection Society. He has published over 140 peer reviewed articles, numerous book chapters and 5 books, including the recent 5th edition of Lecture Notes in Tropical Medicine.
